Character Creation

New characters are created with the Oberin Character Creator. This application is included with the Oberin download. The Oberin Character Creator allows you to choose your character's name, sex, class, and starting skills.

Character names in Oberin are unique. Please try to choose a name that reflects the theme and genre of the game. Titles or ranks, like Lord, Lady, Sir and Captain, are not allowed. Titles will be automatically assigned to your character as it develops. Animal and monster names, or names that are completely outside the genre of the game are not allowed either. The maximum length for names is 14 characters.

If your chosen name is not acceptable a Game Master will be able to change it for you. You must use the new name whenever you log in again.

There is a maximum limit of two characters per player. The Character Creator also has an inbuilt Character Manager allowing you to delete characters you no longer want, so that you may create a new one. You will not be able to delete your character until one day after it was created. You will need the e-mail address you used to create your character when deleting, so be absolutely sure you enter it correctly when creating and do not forget it.
