Welcome to Oberin!
Oberin is an online fantasy role-playing game and virtual community, available exclusively for Macintosh. Oberin takes place in a persistent, ever evolving world -- your character may come and go, but the world continuously runs.
While there are many separate quests that can be completed in Oberin, there is no ultimate goal when playing. The journey is the reward. It's an online fantasy world where the fun comes from interacting with other real players. You can join a group of fellow players to hunt for dragons, spend a quiet day fishing, meet a friend at the pub for a game of chess, or spend some time refining your chosen skills.
Do you have questions? Do you want to discuss Oberin? Visit the Oberin Message Board.
**NOTE** Oberin will not run natively on Mac OS X 10.7 (Lion). Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) will still run Oberin if you have Rosetta installed. For tips for running Rosetta on Lion (10.7) click here.
If you want information about running Oberin in SheepShaver for Lion and Windows, click here for info and links to files.
Note: The gaming system is in a state of flux and information on the web site might not always accurately reflect the current state of the game.

Year 439, From Day 249 of the Growing Moon to Day 1 of the Bleeding Moon
Evening was approaching on Day 249 of the Growing Moon and I was just preparing for a hunt at the Mara Vanguard Guild Hall when I received the message that Brother Evaristos had finished transcribing the diary of late Commander Kang. This book that was recovered from a Brigand Camp during the Sleeping Moon of 438.
It was done, 2 days ahead of schedule, which was good. I sped to Brigobaen and everything seemed just fine, I was just going to get the book and return it to Marali. At the temple I had to wait a bit for Brother Evaristos to show up, he worked so hard on the book, he was overcome by tiredness. When he awoke he handed me the book, both the original copy and the transcribes version. Just as I was about to leave my fellow Armswoman Luciella and a mutual friend, ranger Jozlyn showed up and I am thankful for that. For I wouldn't have made it to Marali on my own.

| The Last Voyage... |

Is always the coldest. It's taking that last step into the darkness, the unknown, not sure of what to expect but nonetheless, it still sends a chill down your spine. With that chill, the memories come flooding back. You realize what kept you holding on for so long, the reason you're still sane. You realize everything that has kept you warm that warmth slowly drifts away, the coldness sets in and the color begins to fade.
