On day 181, year 437, Brigands were spotted at the Lizard Man Fort by Kookai, Lynlyss, Zara,Alysandra, Galena, Cael, and Sylvia the Spider. The first reddened foe was spotted by Galena in the heat of a hasty rescue in the northern section of the Lizard men's lair, an ally of his followed shortly. After Kookai-san defeated the first two, four more appeared and soon fell to the fierce warriors quick Katana.

The party then searched the area for shelters, but alas there was no sign of them. They returned to Mirith to split a good nights earnings of bolts and other fond prizes, including several brigand heads.

Why they were there, and why in so few numbers remains a mystery.

99th Day of the Bleeding Moon, Year 437

Dear Nial,

I have scoured the lands near Marali looking for the "forge" mentioned by the Black Hand. The guild house forges and the disused forge in Aborek seem clear. I am puzzled, as you will see we are now looking for a forge and an island.

Many of the Black Hand Forts have been near Mirith. So it was that I met a young fighter called Emor, looking bloodied and bruised near the Mirith bank.

"I slew seven". I must have looked puzzled and the warrior then added "Brigands, at the cem" by way of explanation. Happily, our chaplain Master Borti was on hand, and together we went to find out what was going on. The place was infested with Brigands, and they had set up a total of four shelters. There being nobody around to help, we set about gradually luring them to their doom outside the cemetery. We slew 57 in all, but we could find no clue at to what they were doing disturbing the rest of the dead.

Young Emor will make a fine warrior. A constant battlecry of "Blood. Blood. Blood." emanated from the young fighter. One to watch I think.

Later we heard of a Black Hand fort near Andris, I think Borti will provide a full report, but it seems they have some hold on an island. We could do with your help in the search brother.

Farewell for now,

Octar

A surprisingly ornate note--made of the finest pressed Trout skin--reached the hands of one Octar Ironwall.

Dear Brother Octar,

These recent reports of the increased numbers of Black Hand servants disturb me greatly. In addition, the crimson color of our capricious moon concerns me--perhaps some correlation between the two could be drawn?

I am deeply sorry for my lack of involvement in the raid on any and all of the fortresses, and I fear my reasons for my absence...s...will prove unsatisfactory. You see, I'm improving my skill as an angler. This paper also demonstrates the fruits of my "labor," though your fighting labors immediately outshine my...paper-making proficiencies. Well. So be it.

During my most recent patrol of Marali, the most notable foe I encountered was a Bone Mage. Not a single Brigand. I suspect I am looking in the wrong locations, however. This will change.

After I get my quota of 600 Trout, that is.

For Marali,
-Nial

Dear Brother Nial,

With the brigand and mercenary attacks tonight, on the Mirith Vanguard guild hall, things one cannot help but wonder what ill winds are blowing across Mirith this bloody moon.

I have no doubt someone will write of these events further. Today brigands attacked the LV guild hall, killing it's guards and also impaling their bodies.

Apparently a large group of brigands were staging for an assault on the MaV GH as well, and were routed.

Finally, another band of brigands were encamped near the Andris Vanguard, and they too were routed.

All Vanguardians should exercise caution.

Bleeding Moon, Day 135, Year 437

A group of adventurers went to try their mettle in the Mari Rangers Dungeon during full Bleeding Moon. The trip to the dungeon was plenty of fun in itself. The surprise came when the party entered the dungeon to find a double fistful of Brigands in the entry hall. Needless to say, the group was taken by surprise, but thanks to some well learned survival skills, enough of the party remained standing at all times, to make the hunt a success. Approximately 20 heads were taken in all. The party consisted of Razan, Musti, Krem, Alysandra, Nicodemus, Galena, Alexia, Cydney, and Shayde.

Dear Terliyne,

Borti II, Luciella and I went to consult Fuoco in Andris. Whilst we were conversing, and casually removing some unwelcome flora and fauna from the beach, Brigands attacked from a shelter they made at the top of the rocks. Because of the bracken, Luciella was in her resistive rather than protective robe, and a mob brought her down. We were swiftly avenged. These brigands were armed in the usual fashion, I have not seen any of the plate-armoured brigands since the fort near Brigobaen was taken.

Yours,

Armsman Octar

P.S. Fuoco congratulates you on joining! ~O

Year 437, Day 23 of the Red Moon

I thought I'd go for a quick jog up to Gohoran with the hound to toughen him up a bit. I came to the intersection of the Duldrus/Upper Mirith Road and the Gohoran spur when I saw some odd activity. I saw a vast bonfire blocking the road and a host of Brigands hastily raising wooden fortifications. It looks like they were trying to block the road where it was naturally bottlenecked by walls of stone. I knew I was well out of my depth. I sent word to all I could for aid and decided to slowly make my way to the southern side of the fortifications. People coming from Mirith would hit the southend first. I peeked through the rocks as I went and saw them raising structures in the center of the road. As I see it, they were gumming up the road in an effort to restrict enemy movements. This was more of a trap than a fort, but not a very good trap yet, because they weren't finished and they wouldn't get the chance.

The battle itself was not terribly difficult, although there were a few casualties due to the restrictive nature of the fort. Attached are a couple of images of the fort's interior.

On day 25 of the Red moon, a group of dragon hunters were...visited by brigands. The good majority attacked with full force, while the others walked around on the ice. Eventually dying from such. (I think? I dunno, it was very odd haha. Razz)

The brigands encountered were swiftly disposed of along with any stragglers that roamed about, and the party continued with their ultimately successful dragon hunt.

Day 143 of the Year 437

A small party of Rosina, Aerowyn, Urdir, Suscane, and myself just finished some quality time with the residents of the Pixie Cave when we were set upon by a small squad of brigands. We dispatched them quickly and turned our attentions to their ramshackle shelter for good measure. There was no indication that this group was attached to a larger force.

143rd Day of the Red Moon, Year 437

ìBrigands!..... Brigands at the cemetery!î Harvey Jr. of the Lerilin Guards yelled to a group of us as we stood on the bank steps preparing for a quest to Brigobean.

Defending the small village of Lerilin and the safety of its people was now our priority. There was no need for discussion, as we all knew what was needed to be done. I gathered my reagents and by the time I made it to the cemetery the group were already in battle.

Fighters Gilden and Octar were taking on massive attacks from our foes. Their armour bloody & battered from receiving blows that would kill any lesser being.

Wizards Foxeron, Kevin, Serulean and myself struck waves of Brigands with the flamboyancy and power of our Lightning Bolts.

Rangers Sam, Penny, Ferrun & Beyoglu fought gallantly and brought many Brigands to their knees as the suddenness and shock of their arrows pierced through flesh and armour.

The Rogue llop, with the speed and grace of his dagger penetrated blows deeply into the enemies bringing them to a quick death.

And the Cleric Tyestris had the extremely challenging task of healing so many warriors in battle. Being the only Cleric, Tyestris did an amazing job with only one of our warriors falling to their death.

Victorious in our fight against the Brigand army, we stopped to catch a quick breath when Privateers charged at us from the ocean. The battle was quick and soon ended too with the bodies of Privateers scattering the shore line.

(sincere apologies if i missed anyone involved in the battle)

Year 437 ; Red Moon

I, Foxeron, was traveling with the ranger Sam through the forests of Duldrus as we do on occasions. We were going to an uncharted location recently brought to my attention by fair Sam. He mentioned that there was a library there that could be of great use to me and my studies. On our way there we encountered many foes, just as one would expect in those forests. When we arrived to our destination I was pleased to say that it was no less than what I thought it would be. To be within a cave it was rather grand and luscious. Sam then led me to the lower level open arrival so that I could go through some of the books in the library on that level. While researching Sam kept watch and informed me that there were Brigands above on the upper level where the exit lay. Unfortunately, they were not as friendly as they had been in the last encounters me and Sam had experienced. We decided it would be best to kill almost all except for one and then interrogate the remainder. To our dismay the remainder did not speak so we had to do away with it. The party of brigands seemed more like a scouting party that followed us into the cave with intentions of trapping and killing us. This leads me to believe that they know me and Sam are advancing in our findings and research, and now they wish to put a stop to what we're doing. So to those thinking we're aligned with the Black Hand... That is not so.

(I don't have any texts logs because nothing important was said... None of the brigands spoke...)

3 wizards set out for the poisonous island off the coast of marali
Jaraxle
Aderwyn
Kevin

whist there I saw a shelter in the S, apparently our lightning bolts had startled a few mercenaries, as they woke up and came towards us, we were victorious, but then to our suprise the camp had brigands there as well, 13 brigands attacked us, yet again our magic and wit were much greater than their puny attempt at an attack, when burning down the shelter we found 3 magical robes, the rest of the island seemed to just have your typical mess of poisonous creatres, my worry about this hidden encampment is the island forge spoken of might be close by, and this could be a stop to transport goods, seemingly out of the way and hard to get to.

scouting further will be done

day 32, harvest moon, year 437

today while depleting the bracken population north of andris I was attacked by a lone brigand.

He seemed rather confused to be there, as I was confused in seeing him, I quickly disposed of him, and turns out my bolt was strong enough to detach his head, I scouted the areas nearby, such as crescent island, with no other activity.

maybe his friends abandoned him. his loss.
