Here's a walkthrough for getting logged in into the magic world of Oberin.
1: This is the easiest part: Oberin is a macintosh only game, so make sure you are the proud owner of a mac. No windows.
2: The forum account you use to read here and use to create new posts is completely separate from your actual playing account, so you still have to create a character to play Oberin after you registered on this website.
3: Download the full client. Click here to do so. Read the terms of service, also known as the ToS and agree to download.
4: Look into your Oberin client folder and you will find the 'character creator'. Click this to open the application that allows you to create your playing character.
5: Choose a name. Keep in mind we like names to fit the fantasy world setting of oberin. Titles (sir, king, miss), phrases (LonelyStan, whiteJoe), famous persons (Superpowergoku, Joe Cocker), numbers (Andy345) are not allowed and will not be activated.
Pick a password, fill in the email, and assign the skills to your character. After you have done that make sure to check the 'i agree to the terms of service' box and hit 'create'.
You now have a new character and are ready to enter to world of Oberin.
6: Next look into your Oberin client folder again and launch Oberin by clicking on the Oberin icon.
7: Log in using the name and password you have chosen in the character creator. Again this is NOT the name and password you use for this forum.
Leave the server field blank.
8: Enjoy!
(9: There is a limit of two characters per computer. If you want to create a third one you will first have to delete a previous one. This can only be done three days after you created the character.
To do so: Launch your character creator, pick 'management' in the top menu, and then choose 'request character deletion'. Enter the email you used to create you character and you will get a list showing the characters linked to that email. Choose the one you want to delete...and there you go!)
10: If you have done all this and still can't log in, make sure to check the server status on oberin.com because the server might be offline. Patience is the only solution here. |
