I'm with Synnove on this. I see no reason to limit the ways that a person can donate. For those who like chochskies the store is great. If someone would rather give $5 than pay $30 for a shirt or coffee mug they can do that to.

One more for keeping the store.

Wow! Jinker took Synnove's idea and ran with it!

Anyone buy one of the Gaper Codpieces yet?

Check it out!

Meaning, for example, that if you want to donate you have to pay $30 only to donate $5. I saw it as you get to donate and get an Oberin t-shirt, but maybe I am blind. So what do you think, should I shut the store down now and just rely on donations?

Keep the store up... its a great idea to make available Oberin art on merchandise. Like many people I happily both donated and shopped.

This is a fantastic idea, keep it open! It could help fund new servers, the shirts pay for the selves, it would make the game go faster, and those who love Oberin, which is everyone, would be able to have it tangible piece. I think you would get ten times more cries of complaint if you closed it, than if you left it open.

Well I already made my statement before jinks wrote his so we already know my idea ( I hope). So, I'll just say this, though most people like to please everyone as much as you can, in the end you can't live your life or make ideas off the few you can't please (my motto "You can't please everyone").

I see there is an overwhelming positive response to the store. My only complaint is that I wish you had different levels of straight donations, 5,10, 15 & 20 for example. I had every intention to just donate 20 but after the first 5 I then have to reload my account and wait for it to happen before I can donate again and I'm just to lazy about that. I sill will probably buy a mug or bear but would have like to just had given $20.

Keep the store! Buy a mug now, a bear later.

Been away, logged on and I was utterly shocked!

I agree with Cyric, a choice of donation amount would be convenient.

Jinker, you should make your store appear as if it were an Oberin shop, perhaps with a few shopkeepers as well. Smile

*sighs* I am tired with alertpay.com. Neither "withdraw" nor "send money" does work from europe. Is there a european player who donated already? I would love to send money somehow...

Any ideas except the shop?

Thank you

The shop has to stay open!! I don't have money to buy anything yet. :'(

I wanna buy a thong so I can have it framed. Just for laughs.

(Friend): Why is there a thong framed on your wall????
(Lenard): I saw it and I just had to have it.

I want a mug also. I would get a shirt, but they don't come in tent. ><

I think you have to click on the icon that is in the link Jinker gave us. The Withdraw and Send Money options are from Alertpay.com's home website and that didn't work for me either, even from the U.S.A. Click on Jinker's link, then click the Alertpay icon. It lists every country I have heard of there.

Sincerely,
Lord Stryker
The Courtless Jester

p.s. here is the link again for the Store and Donations.

I used the "change method of payment" link, that let me charge it directly to my bank card.

Darn Jinker, sorry to hear about this. I'm lining up my donations right now. I wish there was "An official GM of Oberin" shirt or a way to give a lot more than $5 easily. Wink

Sorry I haven't been around much. But, I feel like more than anyone I owe the Oberin community a lot.

Actually in Oberin terms this could be considered a "Rescue".

We managed to salvage the data from the old server, and nothing was lost. When the server is back online, all your characters, guild halls, etc. will be restored to their original state.
The donations are steadily going and we reached about 30% of our target. Thanks to everyone who helped us so far!
