Changes made!

Thanks Lou Bene Razz

I have a question: At the bank when I see people speaking Japanese, I never see them using punctuation. No exclamation marks, no periods or full stops, no question marks, nothing.

Are they not commonly used in Japanese?

they use desuka for questions, and there is no such thing as capital letters in japanese so why bother using them, they dont need a full stop because its obvious once you are done with the sentence, they dont use spaces either... who needs spaces anyway

i am not japanese of course, so i might be wrong Razz

and i am aware of my poorly constructed post...

Good answer, Teleco! :D

Both punctuation and periods are used in Japanese too. On a chat on the Net, they are omitted often times though. As for exclamation marks and question marks, we use them for informal talk or writing, such as a chat on the Net, letters to friends, advertisements, entertainment stuffs and so on.

It is a bit hard for us to read Japanese sentences written in literation. (This seems somewhat funny from Japanese language input method. Most of us actually use alphabets for typing.) Because of it, in Oberin, we separate each segment or word with a space, and tend to make each sentence shorter. These function as punctuation and periods. :)

I would also imagine it to be a bit harder without the ability to use kanji, I'm sure making oberin support the japanese characters would make it a lot easier for you Smile

Last trip to Crausaar's Descent reminded me of this thread. I would love to seen a few hunting vocabulary added to it, if any of our Japanese players has the time and patience. Smile

Namely, things like the cardinal points, and basic instructions we keep giving each other during a chaotic situation: drink, stop, run, water, on me, hide, or even something more elaborated like "can't see you because there's a pillar blocking."

I know that most Japanese players know how to say those in English, but the non-Japanese speaking still don't get it if it's said on screen from Punit to Hayate, for example! So, to be safe, I'd rather learn those expressions than standing still when we were meant to move. Very Happy
