Death seems to be a lot harsher after the update. I died a couple of times because of potions having no effect (I have seen this bug once before happen to Gwyddeon). Took much longer to relevel healing (and RM).

Worse, I went from wrestling 4 to 3. I was under the impression that you don't lose successes from skills under 5. Bug or feature? I hate to say it, but the extra success loss is good. People treat death far too casually in this game. But losing successes from level 4 skills seems really harsh - might be a bug?

Update: took me 12 slaps of a wolf to re-level which means I must have lost a ton of successes (I had trained wrestling 4 quite a bit on skeletons).

I have argued before that death is too soft, so the extra success loss is a good idea, but losing successes from low level skills seems too harsh.

The death loss was made random a while back and I made the range wider in the last update. Not losing success for skills under level 4 was a rumor.

But if that is the case... How come our lvl 3/4 skills never went down when we died before??

AFAIK before you lost the successes but you didn't loose the level.

Ahh, I am soooo glad I didn't miss April Fools day because there was none. I have to say, I think a really good idea for April Fools would be turning everyone in to animals and all the animals in to humans and seeing what it's like to be an Obie animal. o.O

I heard random success loss 0-100 now, its too much / terrible I think... GMs don't want players having fun in obie? server down will never kill us anymore?

But doesn't it also means that sometimes you lose 0 to < the old 25 successes? I do understand Afa's point - oh yes, wizard magery, I love you! -, and I do agree that the fact that the game crashes a lot should be taken into account. But I also agree with Octar (elsewhere) that death could be a bit more penalised. Just not so much that it makes people stop hunting and wanting to go to dangerous places... But maybe the solution to that passes by getting a better server or changing the way hunting skills level by.

Above all, I'm all for measures that make counting and talking about game-mechanics less trendy (random chest pops, please!!). So yes, I do like that we don't know exactly how many successes we might lose. But maybe the range could be a bit smaller? (Is it even official that it goes from 0 to 100?)

And Jinker, I might become a druid if you add those pink tuskers. Maybe in a new tower looking like She-Ra's castle, with pink unicorns, butterflies and candy.

It's not 0-100. We wouldn't do that to you. I believe the range is now 15-35 and is on the average 25 as before.

There were some april fool's jokes with items but nothing big like Jinker wanted to do, it would have required a full update patch.

Ubijca, "the range is now 15-35" is official announcement? if so, let us know on official site's main page or red text on text logs when we log in obie please.

but I heard my friend lost 64 successes by 1death, so I still can't believe the range what you explained....

In either case, this secret update is terrble...
Rethink about this please.
