To the Rulers of Mirith and the Senators of Andris, as well as the respective Vanguards:
Our three cities were victims of surprisingly strong Alliance attacks during the first half of the bleeding Moon in this year 438. Thanks to many helping hands we could clear the forts, yet it was with fear we saw the high level of criminal organization and economy inside the forts. We suspect this to be an indicator for a wider net of criminal organization.
Marali is concerned about the recent attacks and this is a call to the governments of the cities of Andris and Mirith to collaborate during those times. It will be important to share information starting by the forts on from there onwards trying to discover the origins of the threats and oppose it as soon as we can, before it is too late.
Signed on behalf of Maralian Officers,
Captain Charonia |

Dear Charo,
I will ask Pernell if the Mirithian authorities have anything against your proposition (which I very much doubt they will). As for me, as always, it will be a pleasure to return to Marali to work with you, even if in a formal meeting. At least this time we won't have to hide our insignias before reaching the island where the rivers meet!
I am sure the Vanguard will be willing to collaborate as well.
Yours,
C. |

An ambassador dressed in deepest crimson arrives in Marali, bringing with him a small retinue and a large case of Andris' finest champagne. With a flourish, and a velvet-gloved hand, he presents an elaborately sealed scroll to the gray-clad Captain Tarnus Quin. Observing diplomatic niceties, Captain Quin suppresses his desire to chuckle, allowing only a very slight rise of his left eyebrow to betray his amusement as he returns a gift of twelve year old Marali whisky. Once the formalities have been completed, and the ambassador safely quartered in the third-least spartan room available, the Captains and Majors break the seal and read the considered response of the august Senate.
From the Senate, to the Majors and Captains of Marali.
We received your missive from the perspicacious Captain Charonia, and wish to ponder and digest the important and interesting proposal propounded within. Whereas ...
Maralian eyes begin to glaze over as the scroll unwinds to more than four sword-lengths. "Oh just skip to the end!" suggests Major Andon.
...and therefore whilst we cannot formally accede to your request at this time, we agree it has great merit. Hence the matter remains under active consideration. In due course a fuller response will be issued.
The officers exchange quizzical glances briefly, before breaking out into hearty laughter. "A fuller response?" Major Tesdor's acerbic voice snarls "sixteen sword-lengths of nothing next time I suppose!".
The following day, a bedraggled scout wearing blue leaves a note for Captain Charonia.
Dear Captain Charonia,
In these exceptional times, His Majesty's Scouts are willing to share all the little information we have. We are hard pressed, and fear an imminent attack from our mutual enemies. We may even seek the aid of our friends from Marali in battle, if it comes to it. I am hopeful that many free adventurers and guilds will join us as we face what might be the deadliest peril ever to assail Mirith.
Yours,
Captain Pernell
